Nicole’s photographs and artworks invite you to explore the remarkable diversity of seaweeds and the marine life that thrives within the underwater forests along Wellington's south coast.
The striking colours and intricate textures of seaweeds are a natural canvas for Nicole. In her signature black-and-white photo series, she captures the sculptural elegance of giant kelp in abstract detail, while her colour works celebrate the richness of the marine life these ecosystems support.
The fluidity of movement, the organic forms, and the ever-changing interplay of light, waves, and sea life keep drawing Nicole back beneath the surface. Each dive offers new perspectives and fleeting moments of beauty that she wants to share. Through this work, she hopes to spark a sense of wonder and help others form a lasting connection with the hidden world just beyond our shores.
