Our Lady’s Home of Compassion

Location

2 Rhine Street, Island Bay

Medium

Stained-glass/Photography

We invite you to join us at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion in Island Bay for tours of our striking stained-glass windows. These windows in The Chapel of Our Lady of Compassion, designed by Island Bay legend and artist John Drawbridge and crafted by Peter Kirby, capture the beauty and peace of our urban monastery. The tours will also include The Resting Place of Meri Hōhepa Suzanne Aubert featuring the work of Michael Pervan and Olaf Wehr-Candler.

We welcome you to come for a thirty-minute tour of the windows on:
Saturday the 13th September – 10am, 1pm, or 3pm
Sunday the 14th September – 3pm
Please note the Chapel will be open from 2pm-4pm on Sunday.

We are also delighted to be hosting local artist Chris McKeown’s exhibition A Pilgrimage into Awe featuring his stunning night sky photography, accompanied by a series of talks.
