Sarah Nightingale
Sarah is interested in glimpses and small slices of (usually) urban life, using a process that aims to reflect the aesthetic in the grit, the grunge and the random nature of city living. She has always been drawn to the underwhelming and is particularly inspired by artists who celebrate the ordinary. Her art work is a response to the haphazard layers of different architectural styles in our daily vistas, and the surprises that can sometimes appear in the spaces in between. Her current mixed media prints and collages are inspired by a landscape of old stone, coloured rock and misty woods, sourced from her time in Galicia in 2023, alongside some more current Wellington influenced prints.
Sarah is an art therapist and printmaker, with recent exhibitions with Imprint, Wellington Regional Arts Review and the Toi Open.
