St Hilda’s Anglican Church Island Bay

Location

311 The Parade, Island Bay

Medium

Art exhibition/Recital

Earthquake strengthening is rarely affordable nor pretty. Nevertheless, St Hilda’s has faced these challenges and come out glowing. They welcome you to come inside and check out why she’s won a New Zealand National Architectural award. The new facade is described as “a golden tessellating veil, adorned with a pattern that represents the history, future, people, and essence of the place and the church”.

Be sure to come along and enjoy an array of local art, curated this year by Jeannette Troon. St Hilda’s is pleased to offer herself again as a spacious venue for the South Coast Arts Trail. Both the hall and church will feature an inspiring range of creativity over the weekend, including a musical recital late Sunday afternoon.

Exhibition opening times:
Saturday 10am - 4pm
Sunday 12pm - 4pm
